Sketching Wave Functions - Step 2A

Now, create the wave function for each region.

 

Click the “Region I” tab, and adjust the “wavelength” of the wave function in Region I (empty space) to the value calculated previously. Click the “Check” button to verify if your wavelength is correct.

 

If you wish to have a written record of the step so far, print the Wave Function Sketcher window.

 

From the wave function graph, draw the probability density graph of the electron in empty space only. You may sketch it free-hand or print a blank graph on which to sketch.
