Parallax
Parallax is the relative position of the bodies in the picture, as seen from different points of view.
Looking at a 3-D scene with two eyes creates two different images one in each eye.

As can be seen in figure 10p1:

 Our brain is "trained" to interpret these two views of the same scene as depth in the picture.

In a hologram, each point on the hologram contains information about a different point of view of the scene.
