Module A:  Conservation Module

This is tutorial that gives an introduction to the concepts of Energy and Momentum and the conservation laws that govern them.

Module B: Energy and Light Module

In these tutorials we will explore the relationship between energy and light using some experiments with common light sources and computer simulations. We will also introduce the energy diagram as a way of describing energy changes.

Module C: Wave Motion Module

We examine the distinguishing properties of waves, and investigate the wave behavior of "particles". The idea of wave functions is introduced to explain matter waves. A number of simple experiments are described and we use video and computer simulations to demonstrate other more complicated apparatus.

Module D: Potential Energy Diagram Module

Potential energy diagrams are a good way to describe an object's motion. Energy diagrams are constructed for a toy car and its interaction with magnets. We use hands on and simulated experiments.

Module E: Wave Functions and Their Interpretation

Using our knowledge of waves and potential energy diagrams we will make sketches of wave functions for given boundary conditions. We will also consider tunneling and the uncertainty principle.

Module F: Application of Wave Functions to Atoms

Applications of wave functions and electron behavior to atoms, atomic structure, orbitals and the periodic table.
